Forget United against City, Liverpool against Everton or Real against Barca. The real derby is a virtual one and it’s between FIFA and PES .
Both franchises are a favourite with footy fans and gamers alike and the title of best footy sim will soon be up for grabs all over again.
Konami has revealed that PES 2018 will launch on September 14, 2017 . We don’t yet know about FIFA, but with E3 2017 right around the corner we’re expecting to hear a lot more soon.
Konami says that “no part of the game has been left untouched” and has promised a heap of new features for PES 2018.
This includes a tighter dribbling system and the ability to bring the ball under control using different parts of the player’s body. The game developer is also touting a Real Capture system that will give stadiums realistic lighting for both day and night matches.
PES 2018 will be available at launch on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360.

There will also be a digital PC version available on Steam. However, as yet there’s no mention of a Switch version for Nintendo owners.
That could prove to be an oversight from Konami as EA is already committing an upcoming FIFA title to Nintendo’s innovative new console.
