Konami has revealed PES 2018 with a brand new trailer which once again shows makes the most of Pro Evolution Soccer’s exclusive relationship with Barcelona FC.
The trailer begins with some incredible footage of Barcelona’s Nou Camp stadium and the distant echoes of football fans roaring from the terraces.
Football fans also get a closer look at several Barca stars such as Neymar, Suarez and Pique with some incredible looking graphics.
This, Konami say, is in part due to their new “REAL Capture system” to help make every element of the game – from the turf to player tattooes – even more lifelike than ever before.
Bosses at Konami have promised that PES 2018 will feature “more new additions than any other PES title in the last 10 years”
What fans can see in the above video and gallery below is just a teaser of what’s to come, with more expected to arrive in a couple of weeks at the E3 2017 gaming conference.
However, fans have been given a release date for the game, with PES 2018 set to arrive on September 14, 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

“I’d love to play PES 18. Can’t wait for its release”
Game developers Konami launched the video with a determined effort to blow their FIFA 18 rivals out of the water.
“Konami is committed to breaking new ground with the PES series, and PES 2018 sees us enter the field more confident and determined to excel than ever,” said Masami Saso, the President of Konami Digital Entertainment.
Part of this commitment has also seen the game introduce a new REAL Touch + process, where players will react to receiving a ball “using permissible parts of the body, such as chest, head and legs to bring a pass under control dependent on the height and pace of the incoming ball.”
In addition, Pro Evolution Soccer’s Twitter account event teased fans by writing: “New free-kick and penalty system is coming in PES 2018.” but opted to hold back any specifics.
As you might expect, PES players went bonkers for the footage with thousands sharing it on social media.
“I’d love to play PES 18. Can’t wait for its release,” wrote one Twitter user.
Another commented: “Looks practically like real life. Graphics are on another level.”
PES Main rival’s from EA Sports are yet to reveal anything official of what’s set to come for FIFA 18, but fans of the series were given a brief glimpse at a “leaked” FIFA 18 gameplay showing Manchester United star Paul Pogba as the cover star.
However, the news first reported by The Daily Mirror was, unfortunately, a big fat fake and actually concept art designed by Twitter user @JamescDZN.
It’s still fun to look at though, teasing a potential new menu interface, a revamped Alex Hunter Journey mode and the addition of FIFA Street, a fan favourite that’s been requested for several years, but in all likelihood won’t return to FIFA 18.
As it stands no one knows who will the FIFA 18 cover star, but it’s possible that EA Sports could once again put it to the public vote, commencing mid-June following EA’s big E3 Show, dubbed EA Play.
All we really know about FIFA 18 so far, is that it will also come to Nintendo Switch, which Konami looks to have skipped out on for PES 2018.
