Electronics firm Hisense has been confirmed as the latest official sponsor for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

As part of the deal, Hisense will have advertising feature at the World Cup, the 21st time it has been held, along with the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, also being hosted by Russia, due to take place between June 17 and July 2.
It will also see the firm’s televisions used during both competitions.
“Over the years, Hisense has gained a lot of experience and seen strong brand growth through sports sponsorships,” said Liu Hongxin, the company’s President.
“We are honoured to take on our biggest challenge yet, the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and we believe that the competition will vastly improve global awareness and economic value for Hisense as a truly international brand.”
Hisense have previous experience of being sponsors at international tournaments.
They were partners for the UEFA European Championship in 2016 and the Australian Open in tennis, where they have naming rights for one of the stadiums used for the Grand Slam.
Since 2014, they have also been the main sponsor for German football side FC Schalke 04.
