So if you’re still not quite sure which game to pick ahead of FIFA 18’s release on September 29 – PES 2018 has already been released – the F2 Freestylers have put together two videos to help make your decision a little easier.
The clips compare the graphics from both games side by side, looking at a number of top players from the sport. Included in the videos is Cristiano Ronaldo – the FIFA 18 cover star – Paul Pogba and David de Gea, to name but a few.
We can’t quite decide which game edges it, as both appear to have nailed certain features on the individual players. And well, you have to admit, they both look great – football games have come a very long way.
And not just in terms of graphics. This year EA are promising to get more out of Frostbite. The introduction of ‘real player’ motion technology gives players like Ronaldo more personality and responsiveness.
New team styles (from Pep Guardiola’s tiki-taka to Jurgen Klopp’s high press) are being introduced and there’s been an upgrade to stadiums.
Meanwhile PES 2018 have included strategic dribbling, better shielding of the ball and subtle player movements to improve gameplay.
Set-pieces have also received an overhaul. Of course there is the usual improved player and stadium graphics, just in case you weren’t excited enough already.
